As we are all well aware, getting employment in this industry is become all about “that bit of paper” employers are looking for so why not get an advantage over everyone else?  Having a Certificate II in your resume will be a huge help, whether you want to go on to do an apprenticeship or simply show future employers your range of skills.

If you have been working in the metal fabrication industry and would like some formal qualifications to help you get your foot in the door or to improve your position at your existing job, why not get recognised for tasks you have already done in your day to day work activities.

If you have done these tasks you may qualify for a Certificate II

  • Apply principles of occupational health and safety in the work environment
  • Work with others in a manufacturing, engineering or related environment
  • Apply quality systems
  • Apply quality procedures
  • Perform sheet and plate assembly
  • Carry out mechanical cutting
  • Perform manual heating and thermal cutting
  • Perform manual production welding
  • Perform routine gas metal arc welding
  • Undertake manual handling
  • Perform engineering measurements
  • Perform operational maintenance of machines/equipment
  • Interpret technical drawing
  • Interact with computing technology
  • Use hand tools
  • Use power tools/hand-held operations

It’s pretty simple and once you have your Certificate II you are well on your way to Certificate III (Trade Certificate)

 

If you have 3 or more years experience you may be eligible to proceed directly to a Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication)
